Woosuk University’s Park Jiyong “Will Do My Best” to Represent Korea at the Asian University Games
Woosuk University in Jeollabuk-do announced today that Park Ji-yong, a third-year physical education major, has been selected to represent Korea at the 2024 Asian University Football Championship.
Park was selected for the national team after his outstanding performance at the Spring University Football Federation Championship 현금홀덤사이트 in Tongyeong in February.
Park, who currently serves as the captain of Woosuk University’s soccer team, is a central defender who has earned high marks for his headers and interceptions. In particular, he is considered to be one of the best in one-on-one defense with quick ball distribution.
With this selection, Park will be able to compete in the Asian University Games under the Korean flag.
The tournament, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on June 1, will feature university teams from seven Asian countries, including Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand.
“I think I was selected as a representative thanks to coach Ahn Jong-kwan, my coach, and my teammates, who sweated together,” Park said, adding, “I will do my best to train so that I can achieve good results.”
Meanwhile, Woosuk University soccer coach Park Jong-hyuk was also selected as a goalkeeper (GK) coach for the Asian University Football Championship.
