Hanwha Requests Ryu Hyun-jin’s Identity Verification… Final Negotiation of Contract Terms

Professional baseball’s Hanwha Eagles have entered the final stages of preparation for the return of ‘Korean Monster’ Ryu Hyun-jin (36).

Hanwha requested Ryu Hyun-jin’s status inquiry from the Major League Baseball (MLB) secretariat through the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO).

if a Korean club wants to sign a player who is or has been a professional or amateur player in the United States or Canada,

is currently under contract with 30 big league clubs, or is on the pending list,

it must contact the KBO Secretariat.

You must go through an identity check with the MLB Secretariat.

The MLB Secretariat will deliver the results to the KBO Secretariat within four business days after receiving the request for identity verification.

Hanwha and Ryu Hyun-jin are expected to officially announce their joining as soon as they reach a final agreement on detailed contract terms.

A senior Hanwha official said, “We are continuing to talk positively,” and added,

“There are a few things left to discuss (in the contract terms), so we are sorting them out.”
