Lee Seung-woo’s Fireworks Shooting Saves Suwon in Crisis
10th-ranked Suwon FC earned three valuable points against Daejeon Hana Citizen.
Suwon FC won 1-0 against Daejeon Hana Citizen in the 29th round of the Hana One Q K League 2023 at Daejeon World Cup Stadium on Monday, thanks to a 32nd-minute goal from Lee Seung-woo.
‘Suwon star’ Lee Seung-woo proved to be the solution to the relegation battle. From a set piece in the 32nd minute, Lee celebrated by slotting home Kim Hyun’s loose header from the right side of the goal. It was his seventh goal of the season. Lee Seung-woo rescued his team from the brink with his fourth goal in five games since August. Suwon had a wedge goal chance in the second half when Park Chul-woo drew a penalty kick from Daejeon Anton, but it was not to be for Kim Hyun, who hasn’t found the back of the net this season. His first shot rattled the post but was disallowed as Lee Seung-woo was ruled to have entered the box early, and his second was saved by Lee Chang-geun, who was again ruled to have moved his feet first. Kim Hyun’s third shot went high and was ultimately disallowed. He had to settle for an assist on Lee Seung-woo’s goal and the three points.
With 29 points, 10th-ranked Suwon FC narrowed the gap to five points over ninth-ranked Jeju (34 points), which has played one game less, and widened 바카라 the gap to seven or eight points over 11th-ranked Suwon Samsung (22 points) and last-place Gangwon (21 points), which lost 0-1 to Daegu earlier in the day.
