‘Shocking change’, is that really Park Ji-Sung’s Man U teammate?

There is a man who has undergone a shocking transformation that has left him a shadow of his former self.

This is Andersson, a fellow midfielder who played alongside Park Ji-Sung at Manchester United in the English Premier League (EPL).

He joined United from Porto in 2007 and played for the club for eight seasons until 2015. In total, he made 181 appearances and scored nine goals. Many Korean soccer fans remember his time on the pitch with Park Ji-Sung.

Andersson won a total of nine trophies with the club, including four EPL titles and one UEFA Champions League (UCL) title. He retired from active play in 2019.

Andersson’s recent transformation has been shocking, to say the least. In the past, Andersson was known for his reggae hair. Now, it’s gone, and he’s gained a lot of weight. At first glance, you wouldn’t recognize him.

As the UK’s Daily Mail put it, “In the 15 years since United’s UCL winner beat Chelsea on penalties, he has changed completely. He is almost unrecognizable now. Many soccer fans were blown away by a recent photo of Andersson, who turned 35 this year. Gone was his trademark reggae haircut, replaced by a clean-shaven head,” the report said.

“Andersson moved to United in 2007 for £25 million ($41.4 billion), and the highlight of his United career was scoring in the UCL final penalty shootout against Chelsea. He has since retired from active football at the age of 31.”

The UK’s ‘Mirror’ also wrote: “United’s UCL winner looks a different man in retirement. Andersson, who won four EPL titles and one UCL title at Old Trafford, has only been out of the game for four years, but the change has been too much.”
