Lee Kang-In will be looking to score
Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) Lee Kang-In will be looking to score his second consecutive league goal when the French club hosts rivals Olympique de Marseille in “Le Clasique”.
PSG will host Marseille at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille, France, on Aug. 28 at 4:45 a.m. ET in the ninth round of the 2024-2025 Ligue 1 season.
PSG is currently in first place with 20 points (6 wins, 2 draws, 25 goals scored, 8 goals conceded).
They’re unbeaten in the league since the start of the season, but they’re far from complacent.
AS Monaco (6 W, 2 D, 14 P, 4 G), who are also unbeaten, are chasing them.
PSG travel to Marseille on the heels of a midweek trip to PSV Eindhoven in the third leg of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) League phase.
Marseille are one of the two most dominant teams in the Ligue 1 alongside PSG.
The clash between the two teams is known as “Le Classique” and attracts a lot of attention.
The tactical battle between the two managers, Luis Enrique of PSG and Roberto De Zervi of Marseille, will also be closely watched.
One player PSG will be counting on is Lee Kang-in.
This season, Lee has been playing as a zero-top under Enrique, and he’s been on fire.
He scored his first Ligue 1 goal of the season in the 4-1 win over Avre in Round 1, 토토사이트 and then scored in two consecutive games in the 6-0 win over Montpellier in Round 2.
He also found the back of the net against Stade Rennes in Round 6 (3-1) and Strasbourg in Round 8 (4-2) and has now scored four goals in eight league games.
He started the last game against PSV, so it’s possible he’ll come off the bench against Marseille.
Lee has been sharp whether starting or coming off the bench, so Enrique will have his work cut out for him.
If Lee finds the back of the net against Marseille, it will be his second goal in as many games and fifth in the league.
The South Korean national team, led by head coach Hong Myung-bo, is also pleased with Lee’s progress.
With captain Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur) recently sidelined with a hamstring injury, the next generation of South Korea’s national team has been getting better with every game.
Next month’s matches against Kuwait (Nov. 14) and Palestine (Nov. 19) in Group B of the FIFA World Cup North America 2026 Asian qualifiers will be crucial.
