The Korean duo of Kim Si-woo and Tom Kim earned one of only two victories for the International Team on Day 3 of the Presidents Cup in Canada, as the favored United States jumped out to a four-point lead. The Kims defeated Keegan Bradley and Wyndham Clark 4 & 3 in the morning’s fourball session at Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal on Saturday (local time). But it was the only fourball victory for the Internationals, with the U.S. winning three others. In the afternoon foursome session, the Kims were back together again, but Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele beat them 1 up. The U.S. side won three of the four foursome matches.

The Presidents Cup is a biennial match-play competition between the U.S. and a team of non-European international golfers. The Americans have won 12 out of 14 events so far, with one loss and one tie.And they appear to be well on their way to another victory with an 11-7 lead going into the singles matches Sunday. All 12 players from each side will go head-to-head. With a win worth a point and a tie good for a half point, the U.S. needs 15.5 points overall to win the Presidents Cup.In fourball matches, players each play their own ball, and the better score of the two players ends up as their team’s score on each hole.

The Kims won the first two holes against Bradley and Clark and never trailed the rest of the way. Tom Kim had five birdies and Kim Si-woo had four birdies, including the one that closed out the match on the par-4 15th hole.In foursomes, teams each play one 커뮤니티 ball, with one player teeing off on odd-numbered holes and his teammate doing so on even-numbered holes. The Kims were down by a hole through 15 holes before Kim Si-woo holed out a greenside flop shot from a tough lie for an unlikely birdie on the 16th that evened the match.

Kim threw down his hat and put his hands next to the right side of his head, mimicking the “Night, Night” celebration by NBA superstar Stephen Curry. But the U.S. team won the match after Cantlay sank a 17-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole.In Saturday’s fourball, Korea’s Im Sung-jae teamed up with Hideki Matsuyama of Japan, after the two tied a Presidents Cup record for the most lopsided win in a foursome match Friday. But they couldn’t replicate their magic, as Cantlay and Sam Burns beat them 2 & 1.

Im and Matsuyama then lost to Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henry in the afternoon foursome match.A fourth Korean player on the team, An Byeong-hun, did not play Saturday. In the singles, Tom Kim will play the second match of the day against Burns.Im will be up against Henley, and Kim Si-woo will play Keegan Bradley. An will face Sahith Theegala
