Despite the heat wave warning, there was an incident where spectators complained of heat-related illness at a professional baseball game and had to be transported by ambulance.

A Doosan Bears official said on the 4th, “Yesterday, at the home game against the Kiwoom Heroes of the KBO League held at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul, five spectators complained of heat-related illnesses, and four of them reported it to 119 and were transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance.”

The official added, “Only five patients have been identified by the club,” and “We have not been able to confirm the conditions of the patients who were transferred to the hospital, and the patients who received help at the infirmary have improved and returned home.”

Heat-related illnesses have also occurred at other stadiums.

Before the game, Doosan Bears manager Lee Seung-yeop said, “I’m worried that the players will get exhausted,” and “This is a heat we haven’t experienced until last year.”

Kiwoom Heroes manager Hong Won-ki expressed his concerns, saying, “The players are the players, but I am also worried about the fans.”
