Pistol shooters qualify for bronze medal match in mixed team event

Lee Won-ho and Oh Ye-jin qualified for the bronze medal of the 10-meter air pistol mixed team event at the Paris Olympics on Monday, with Oh taking a crack at her second medal in France.

The South Koreans will be up against Sarabjot Singh and Manu Bhaker of India in the bronze medal contest on Tuesday.

Oh, who won a surprise gold medal in the women’s 10m air pistol Sunday, will chase her second medal of the competition. Lee, after finishing fourth in the men’s 10m air pistol Sunday, will pursue his first career Olympic medal.

Lee and Oh finished fourth in Monday’s qualification with 579 points, just one behind the Indian duo. In the mixed team event, 한국을 the third- and fourth-ranked teams from the qualification square off in the bronze medal match.

The top-two qualifying teams will clash in the gold medal match. It will be Yusuf Dikec and Sevval Ilayda Tarhan of Turkiye against Damir Mikec and Zorana Arunovic of Serbia.

South Korea has already won two gold and two silver medals in shooting after only three days of competition here. Three years ago in Tokyo, South Korea only grabbed one silver medal.
